The wait to see Cristian Pache play for the Braves has at least been extended until Friday. Mother Nature intervened Wednesday night in an important way and once game time was running out the tarp was on the field. Because we are in an early season that has been severely affected by the ongoing pandemic, one thing that has changed from a normal season is the amount of time that is spent waiting for the weather to clear up. In a normal year, they would have been waiting for this thing to pick up the ballpark (which probably would have been for a while) and they would try to get this game going soon.
This is not a normal year. The weather took a while to clear up and so instead of waiting, the game was postponed.
The game of the evening of vs. the Nationals has been postponed due to weather and re-placed as a traditional doubleheader on Friday, September 4, starting at 4:10 p.m. pic.twitter.com/oL1rqHfk11

The Braves will make it through early September, which means that both the makeup game and the originally planned game on that date will now be seven innings instead of nine. That’s just another wrinkle for what’s going to be a very wrinkled season. With that said, you’ll always take a stand on a COVID-19 related proposal. Still, it’s a bit bummer to have a day go by without Braves baseball – especially when there was a hot prospect making his debut. I’m also not talking about the hot sauce.
