Atlanta Braves News: Matt Adams pulls away from Marlins, roster maneuvers and more

The Atlanta Braves held the first of two exhibition games against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night and what game it was. Atlanta rebounded from an 8-1 deficit, allowed a home run that tied the game in the ninth and then saw Matt Adams walk away with a monstrous two-out homer in his first game after signing a minor league contract Monday.

If this is an indication of what we can expect from the 2020 season, buckle up.

News from the list

Atlanta made several moves on the list on Tuesday as they continue to prepare for Opening Day. They cleared two spots on the 40-man list by placing Jacob Webb (shoulder) and Phil Pfeifer (elbow bone contusion) on the 45-day injured list. They then filled a couple of those spots selecting the Charlie Culberson contract and signing free agent right Jhoulys Chacin for a one-year contract.

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman tried to make sense of Tuesday’s moves and examines what might be next.
