Army investigates soldiers who appeared in DNC video


Context: The investigation comes after repeated allegations that the Trump administration has infiltrated politics in the military. Most of the time, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley President Donald Trump after a photo on outside a church during protests in racial justice in Washington, DC later said he regretted participating.

The Democratic Party’s platform for 2020 promises to “end the politicization of the Trump administration’s army.”

What follows: The Army will investigate the soldiers assigned to the 9th Mission Support Command.

“Wearing a uniform at a partisan political event like this is prohibited,” said Colonel Lt. Col. Emanuel Ortiz in a statement. “The Army follows the long-standing and well-defined policy of the Department of Defense regarding political campaigns and elections to prevent the perception of DoD sponsorship, approval or endorsement of any political candidate, campaign or cause.”
