Arizona vintage store is praised for mandatory ‘spot-on’ sign masks: ‘Love your sense of humor’


A vintage Arizona store is going viral for its sinister sign that warns guests about wearing masks inside.

Phoenix, Arizona store Antique Sugar has posted a sign outside their building warning customers to wear a mask while inside. However, it is the sarcastic ultimatum at the end that makes people talk.

“If you choose not to wear a mask, we respectfully ask that you postpone your visit,” the poster says. “We will be delighted to discuss the effectiveness of the masks with you when all of this is over and you come to sell your dead grandma clothes.”

Sarah Bingham, co-owner of the store, said the response has been overwhelmingly positive since her signal began to grow on social media.

“People across the country are calling us to thank us,” Bingham told KNXV.

“Someone from Abu Dhabi even contacted us yesterday and made a purchase from us,” he added, noting also the many voicemails the store has received from those who praise it for doubling the need for masks.

“Brilliant, from someone who struggles daily to keep a grandmother alive. Abso[lutely] Right! Love from afar, ”commented another, along with a series of emoji masks.

Despite the applause he received virtually, Bingham told the store that he had received rejection from those visiting the store about the policy.

“They say, ‘You know that masks don’t work, right?’ Or something about carbon dioxide retention, thinking it’s bad for you to wear the mask or that you look stupid wearing a mask, “said Bingham.

Although he admits that “no one likes to wear a mask”, especially in Arizona, where it is hot, he declared “it is literally the smallest gesture we can do” in terms of fighting the deadly outbreak of COVID-19, which has continued to have spikes in various states across the country.

“Some people are trying to make this a kind of political statement, but people are not dying on the party line,” Bingham told KNXV.
