PHOENIX (KVOA) – State health officials reported a new one-day record of 3,858 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday morning. Confirmed cases rose to 73,908.
The data includes people who have recovered.
Arizona also reported 9 new COVID-19 related deaths. The death toll statewide is now 1,588.
Deaths are not recorded until the health department receives a death certificate that names COVID-19 as the cause of death.
The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 3,591 new cases and 44 deaths on Saturday.
Last Friday, the state reported 46,689 cases and the death toll was 1,312.
According to the state data panel, 636,950 people have been tested for the virus. Of those who have been prosecuted, 9.1% have returned positive.
Since June 2, the percentage has increased from 5.7% to 9.6%.
