Arizona Cardinals vs. Dandre Hopkins game-time decision. Carolina Panthers

Tempe, Ariz. – Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Dendre Hopkins will make a game-time decision against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, coach Cliff Kingsbury said Friday afternoon.

Hopkins is dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They are officially listed as questionable on Sunday.

“He’s been working through it and progress has been made, but I don’t think we’ll report until Sunday,” Kingsbury said. “So, we’ll see how he feels and if he can go, he’ll go. But we don’t want to put him there – it’s the beginning of the year – if he’s not feeling his best.”

Kingsbury said he doesn’t know much about what the exact issue is in the Hopkins ankle.

Kingsbury said there has been some kind of progress in the ankle case, but not sure if it’s in a place where he does what he does on Sundays, Kingsbury said. “And that’s what we’re looking for in the next 48 hours.”

Hopkins has developed a reputation for sustainability during his eight-year career, with only two of the 115 missing in his career. Hopkins leads the NFL with 32 receptions and 356 yards this season.

Kingsbury also said wide receiver Christian Kirk would be the timing of the game. He lost to the Detroit Lions last week against the Washington Football League team in Week 2 with a groin injury and that is questionable for Sunday.

Cornwack KD Kirkpatrick is dealing with the head injury he suffered during Thursday’s practice and which led to him appearing on Thursday’s injury report. Kingsbury said the team will evaluate Kirkpatrick over the next two days.

Safety Chris Banjo and Buda Baker were both out of the Panthers’ game.
