Three Reasons Why You Should Look For A Far Arizona Bowl
– Oliot Sugar Bowl – College football between Ohio State and Clemson .L Playoff semifinals – and this. These are just two Bowl games that have a conference champion matchup. Ball State is an experienced team with a good balance and perfect offense. Buffalo was shocked to win the MAC Championship, but handling Mountain West champion San Jose State is a completely different issue.
– San Jose is the best season in the history of state football, leading 7-0 with double-digits with each win. The program has won its last four Bowl games, but it took since 1987 to get it. Head coach Brent Brennan has become a hot name on the coaching carousel circuit, QB Nick Starkel has been fantastic since relocating from Arkansas – and before that Texas A&M – and defense has been consistently great.
– Ball State has never won a Bowl game in seven attempts – this is the first attempt since 2013. The Cardinals have problems against well-passing teams, but they own turnover battles with ultra-aggressive style on both sides of the ball.
Overall, this young bowl hasn’t been bad. Two of the five games have gone overtime, the opening attempt was entertaining – Nevada’s 28-23 win over Colorado State – and technically, these are both the biggest matchups yet with conference champs.
