Are Red Sox ready to trade now? Here is the ‘short answer’ by Chaim Bloom

The Boston Red Sox moved two of their better tradesmen Friday night, sending Brandon Workman and Heath Hembree to the Phillies in exchange for Nick Pivetta and Connor Seabold.

And with another week left until the trade date, what’s next for Chaim Bloom and the Red Sox?

“Short answer is that we do not know,” the Red Sox chief executive said Friday about Zoom after completing the deal. “We always want to stay active in conversations, I think the goal should really be to make sure we are fully aware of all the opportunities that are there, all that can be an opportunity to make our organization better around us achieving goals and making sure we are ready to do something when we find that opportunity. But it is too early to know exactly what these 10 days will take. ”

The Red Sox were periodically mentioned in rumors, but the only ones who had hitherto been legitimate traction were the Workman and Hembree, who, eventually, ended up bearing fruit.
