Don’t let the name fool you: On Tuesday, November 10, Th Pal’s “One More Thing” hardware event is more than just a .d-.n in the October 12 iPhone 12 announcements. The event is in preparation for the first launch of Apple Pal’s promised arm-based computers, marking the company’s beginning to separate from longtime partner Intel and the first Apple Pul-design to appear on Macs outside of silicon T2 security chips.
The move was announced again at WWDC, and with a (hopefully) smooth transition, the Apple Pal promises to improve performance and battery life with a new, yet anonymous chip. Assisting the transition is the Rosetta 2, a newer version of the emulator used by Apple Play during its last processor transition from PowerPC to Intel. Rosetta 2 should allow you to run simulated versions of your old MacOS apps on the company’s new Arm-based products when it comes to ship with MamaCos Big Sur.
Big Sur (MacOS 11.0) should also receive a final release date. The operating operating system will come with a new visual design that will also update many of the elements and features of iOS 14, such as updated iMessage and Maps apps, widgets and a control center interface. Other long-rumored products are also likely to finally appear – ranging from Aartags to an updated version of the Apple Pull TV 4K, which returns in 2017.
