No launch of another company causes something like Apple – love it, hate it, but you just can not ignore it! Promising to launch as of September 2020, the internet is already tired of rumors about the upcoming iPhone 12 – with most renders showing a throwback to metallically sacrificed edges made popular in the iPhone 4 or the iPad Pro. We also hear that this design will be Apple’s next major update since the Apple X 2017 – how can that be? Let’s look at the concept of designer Furkan Kasap that has intrigued us, however, still confuses!
The iPhone 12 retains the awesome notch that was created with the iPhone X – and although we’re looking for changes in the phone’s screen, Furkan’s concept makes us look at the camera notch in a whole new way and how! First, the camera bump now comes with 4 lenses (maybe the macro lens will eventually come to the iPhone!) And doubles up as a direct notification panel. The UI of this notification panel borrows heavily from the well-established and tested UI that the Apple Watch carries – displaying everything from app notifications, widgets, and even your health statistics. We’ve seen conceptual tech display a glass panel that acts as a touchscreen, this would be the first commercial implementation of this technology, but one thing we do know – if Apple actually does, most of the newer models will soon follow. Given the cooling factor of this design, the mini-display can help extend battery life by reducing our reliance on the home screen to control our notifications. It can also double as minimal display of time and date, and helps all of us who actually use our phone to keep track of time without being distracted by the gazillion notifications that catch our attention!
Apple’s philosophy is to normally have a series of incremental changes in the design, unless there is a flagship launch where they redefine their parameters of a smartphone. Maybe this concept is not ready for the iPhone 12, but I can certainly see that Apple is experimenting with the camera module – from the release of the Go-Pro style camera to this display by Furkan, which can actually be taken to the next level taken by making it removable and that module doubles as an Apple watch when worn with a trendy strap. Well, that’s an iPhone, I would love to buy $ 1099 to buy!
