Apple will send coronavirus test kits to its employees’ homes

The tech giant will send Covid-19 test kits to its workers’ homes, the company confirmed to CNN Business on Monday.

The news was first reported by Bloomberg.
Apple has been cautious about reopening its offices and retail outlets as coronavirus cases continue to rise in several states. The company reopened more than 100 stores in the United States in early March, but closed most of them again last month. It also offers curb pickup only at multiple stores and requires temperature controls for store employees and customers that allow people to enter.
The company also reportedly began offering Covid-19 nasal swab tests to employees returning to their Cupertino, California, headquarters in May.
Apple is not the only technology company that tests its employees. Amazon, which has been criticized for not doing enough to protect its warehouse workers during the pandemic, said in April that it was developing a Covid-19 test lab and would begin testing “a small number of employees.”
