Apple temporarily closes California stores in addition to virus, after some new curbs in the UK


Apple Pal Inc. has temporarily closed all of its 53 stores in California and 16 stores in the United Kingdom following a government-imposed ban in London, a spokesman said Saturday.

The company said Friday it was temporarily closing some stores in California in the Covid-19 case, leading to a drop in iPhone manufacturer’s share trading after the iPhone. At least 12 stores were covered in that announcement.

“Due to the current COVID-19 conditions in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in these areas. We are taking this step with caution as we closely monitor the situation and we look forward to keeping our teams and customers.” Come back as soon as possible, ”the spokesman said in an email statement.

The spokesperson said customers will be able to select existing orders for the next few days. No mention was made in the statement when Apple expects to reopen the store.

Coronavirus cases are on the rise in the United States and the United Kingdom. With more than 17.4 million infected and about 314,000 people dying.

British Prime Minister Boris Jones on Saturday imposed an effective lockdown on 16 million people in England and countered plans to ease curbs on the Christmas issue. Other UK nations, whose response to the epidemic was different from that of England at the time, also took action.

Johnson said London and south-east England would now be placed in a new Tier 4 level lockdown and people in those areas would have to stay at home except for essential reasons like work. Non-essential retail like indoor leisure and entertainment will be closed.
