Apple starts sending hacker-friendly iPhones to Paul security experts

Security experts participating in Apple’s Security Research Device (SRD) program may soon receive their hacker-friendly iPhone. According to MCummers, The tech giant has notified the first batch of participants that their SRD phones will be sent immediately. The iPhones for the program behave like their standard counterparts, but they provide security researchers with more access so that participants can run any tools they need to be able to detect vulnerabilities.

AllPlay first announced the program in July “to help improve security for all iOS users. Researchers will have to keep the SRD phone they provide for 12 months, but it is renewable if they want to continue participating after the end of the year. If they have an error in a third-party code, they are forced to investigate, test, or validate the vulnerability they encounter on the research device. That said, participants can still participate in Apple Paul’s Bug Bounty program, which has a payout of 1 1 million. They have to make sure that they do not use their SRD iPhone for any aspect of research for vulnerabilities about what they are submitting.
