Apple shares new ‘Behind the Mac’ videos with musician James Blake, photographer Tyler Mitchell

Apple today shared a couple of new videos on its YouTube channel, focusing on how creatives incorporate the Mac into their workflow. One video focuses on musician James Blake, while the other highlights photographer Tyler Mitchell.

These new videos are part of Apple’s “Behind the Mac” series, which highlights some of the artists who use the Mac as an integral part of their setups. Today’s first new video focuses on Tyler Mitchell, a photographer from New York. The video provides a look at how Mitchell shoots and edits his latest 24-hour portrait series:

“What can I do with the sweaters I have worn on my back?” Tyler Mitchell takes us to his place in Bed-Stuy, as he works on a new series of portraits using only elements from his own room. Remote cameras were installed in the fashion photographer’s apartment, capturing his creative process as he filmed and edited the series over a 24-hour period. Digging through references, compiling a mood board, capturing images, scanning them on your MacBook, and editing selections in Photoshop. Putting the finishing touches on portraits just before midnight.

The second video continues Apple’s focus on musician James Blake, focusing on how Blake used Logic Pro X to create his new song “Ask For More.” This is the second video in Apple’s Behind the Mac series centered on James Blake, and the first has focused on the song “Are you real real”.

This is how Apple describes the latest video:

“It feels like a dream I’m walking through and I can affect what happens in it.” James Blake lets us into his brain as he writes the new song “ASK FOR MORE.” The remote cameras were installed in the GRAMMY® award-winning home studio, capturing his entire creative process as he worked on song writing, recording, and editing over a 24-hour period. From the time spent creating a melody on your piano, looping and launching the melody and adding layers, instruments, and voices in Logic Pro X on your MacBook, to editing it into a finished song. Completing the track just after 1am.
