Apple has released software updates for three of its operating systems: iOS for iPhones and iPods, iPadOS for iPads, and macOS for Macs. The updates are small and concentrate on bug fixes instead of adding new features.
The updates are labeled iOS 13.6.1, iPadOS 13.6.1, and macOS 10.15.6 Additional update. Typically, iOS or iPadOS updates that have two decimal points, updates are bug-fix, and releases that bring new features have only one decimal point.
The mobile device repair fixes an issue that prevented storage from being deleted as intended, addressed a bug that could cause “some displays to display a green tint”, and repaired an issue “where display notifications for some users may be disabled. ” As for macOS, there are only two changes mentioned by Apple: a fix for a ‘stability issue’ related to virtualization programs, and a wake-up issue unique to the brand new iMac that just came out.
Here are Apple’s release notes for iOS 13.6.1:
iOS 13.6.1 includes bug fixes for your iPhone.
- Fixes an issue that prevents unnecessary system data files from being automatically deleted when the available storage is empty
- Fixes a thermal management issue causing some displays to be exposed to a green tint
- Fixes an issue where exposure notifications for some users could be disabled
And for the macOS 10.15.6 Additional update:
macOS Catalina 10.15.6 additional update includes bug fixes for your Mac.
- Fixes a stability issue that may occur when running virtualization apps
- Solves an issue where a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) can appear washed after waking from sleep
All of these updates should roll out to all supported device users worldwide today.
