Apple will today release the fifth betas of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 to developers. Today’s release of iOS 14 beta 5 comes two weeks after the release of beta 4, which includes features like new TV app widgets, support for the COVID-19 Exposure Notification API, and more.
Update: iOS 14 beta 5 is now available for developers.
iOS 14 beta 5 details:
iOS 14 beta 5 is available for developers via a complete update. To install the update, simply go to the Settings app, select General and then select Software Update. If your iOS 14 beta 5 does not appear to be available for immediate download, please keep an eye out for updates.
iOS 14 beta 4 was released to developers two weeks ago, bringing a collection of new widgets to the TV app. iOS 14 also initially lacks support for the COVID-19 Exposure Notification API, but iOS 14 beta 4 added support for the feature. COVID-19 Exposure notifications now also have a more prominent position in the settings app.
iOS 14 beta 5 released today will continue to make improvements to the operating system ahead of its debut in late summer or early fall. Nevertheless, testers should still expect issues about performance and stability when running iOS 14 beta 5 on primary devices first.
