Apple Plus iPad (2020) and iPadOS 14 review

So yes, it looks like the conversion of Apple’s iPad and iPad software is going well. We need to do another thing there, though: though the pal pencil. I mean, if I said five years ago this iPad wouldn’t use Apple’s first-gen stylus, but at least the iPad.dose14 gives you a better way to use it.

The most notable addition is the pencil-centric Scribble, which lets you start typing in any text field. From there, iPadOS does its best to render your chicken scratch into machine-readable text. You don’t have to smack your pen strings in the middle of the field! As long as you’re close, the iPadOS will figure out that you actually had to write it down and take it from there.

Now, I’ll be the first person to accept my disciplinary range from inappropriate up to the deductor-level based on how fast I’m going, but I’m amazed at how accurate the results have been. Of course, errors do occur and thanks to them it’s easy enough to fix errors with a cluster of on-screen controls appearing at the bottom of the screen. This is one of my boobies with Scribble: if you flub a URL or a Google search term, you have to move your hand towards those controls so that you can get out of the groove very quickly. I know how small this sounds, but if you’re like me and type back-to-back all the time, it gets old quickly from the back.

Depending on where the text field you are typing is, the smart move would have dynamically placed a “palette” on that screen for iPadOS. I’m adding it to my wishlist for iPadOS 14.1. However, if you’re any type of person who uses a pencil frequently, I can’t overestimate how useful Scribble is; This means you don’t have to use a pencil to use all your other software.

Speaking of other software, the Note app has been redesigned with new pencil features. If you frequently deal with figures, the notes will “fund” your doodled polygons, arrows, and hearts, turning them into geometrically accurate figures. If marking flowcharts isn’t your thing, you can double-tap anything you’ve typed to select it – from there, you can select more from your scroll and paste it as plain text, or just reload it. Can configure. P. Probably the best, notes application is processing what you write as soon as possible, so it knows how to treat some snippets differently than others.
