Apple Paul releases the first public beta of iOS 14.2

Apple Pal is releasing the first beta of iOS 14.2 to public beta testers today. This followed the release to developers last week, as well as the release of iOS 14 to everyone last week. IOS 14.2 includes some significant changes for iPhone users.

In iOS 14.2 Beta 1, controls are now playing on-screen controls with redesigned AirPlay 2 controls in the Control Center. Another brand new change in iOS 14.2 is the new Shazam Tuggle which can be added to the Control Center.

To add the new Shazam Music Recognition to the Control Center, first make sure you’re running the developer beta of iOS 14.2, which is rolling out today. After that, open the Settings app, select “Control Center”, then find Shazam under the “More Controls” header. You can then add a shuffle tug and rearrange it as you see fit.

Other changes to iOS 14.2 include a new People Detection feature in the Magnifier app to measure the distance between two people, as well as an updated icon for the El Apple and Watch app featuring a new Apple Play and Watch solo loop.

If you are running iOS 14 Public Beta, you can update to iOS 14.2 Public Beta 1 by heading to the Settings app, selecting Software Software Update, and installing the available update. If you do not see it immediately, keep checking as it may take a few hours for your device to get hit. Apple Plus is also releasing iOS 14.2 Developer Beta 1 for the new 8th generation iPad today.

IOS 14.1 is likely to leave Apple Pull 14.2 directly for beta testing, indicating that iOS 14.1 will soon be available to the general public – or Apple Pull will save it for the new iPhone 12 launch next month.
