Apple Pal’s homepod will soon support Dolby Atmos with Apple Pal TV 4K

Apple Pal’s homepod Apple Pal is becoming much more useful as a home cinema speaker for TV4K owners. Apple has confirmed Edge The upcoming software software update will allow the speaker to output Dolby Atmos audio audio as well as 5.1 and 7.1 channel audio audio from Apple’s streaming box. The feature will work best when you have two homepod speakers paired, but it only works with one. The new Home 99 Homepod Mini, however, will not support the new home cinema functionality.

Dolby Atmos support comes as Apple Paul is overhauling how the homepod works with its streaming BX. For starters, the TVOS 14.2 Beta 3 TV Pull TV 4K allows owners to set the homepod as the default default speaker output of their streaming b’s, 9to5MacThis means that users should not be forced to re-select it as its audio output before it connects to AirPay 2, although this function now requires access to a non-public beta version of HomePod’s operating operating system, though.

Apple Paul’s site confirms that home cinema features are exclusive to the homepod.

HomePod is also gaining new ambient sound functionality using its spatial awareness features to provide a virtual surround sound offer dio. As noted on Apple Paul’s website, the “Home Cinema with Apple Paul TV 4K” feature is only supported by more expensive homepods, as the Home 99 Homepod Mini lacks its spatial awareness or beam-making technologies. The HomePod Mini can still be used with AirPlay 2 along with the Pepal TV 4K.

Apple Pal’s next update means that the HomePod will reach Amazon Studios, which has been able to provide Dolby Atmos audio Dio for Fire TV streaming devices since its release last year. If Amazon’s feature implementation is anything to go by, however, then homepods and Apple Pull TV 4K owners may be in for a treat. When my colleague Dan Seifert tried this feature last year, he noticed that Amazon’s speakers offered sound quality that was comparable to the larger and more expensive Dolby Atoms soundbar.

October 15, 6:49 AM and update: Updated to specify that a non-public beta is currently required to set the homepod as the default Pull TV 4K speaker.
