Earlier this week it was suggested that we might see a 12-pul silicone 12-inch MBQbook before the end of the year, perhaps as one of Apple’s first ARM-powered Max.
If the report is true, despite a strange fact, I have already talked about buying one
My 11-inch MBQbook stays in the air closet
I have an 11-inch M-B Kabuk Air which was a perfectly sensible purchase in 2013, but has since become virtually obsolete for my needs.
My primary Mac was a 17-inch MacBook Pro for a long time. I loved that machine, and happily traveled with it, but strolling around town was a little overwhelming and overwhelming, when I only wanted to use it in a coffee shop for 45 minutes. Taking a cycling leave was definitely too vast. A separate, ultra-portable Mac was justified, and I bought an 11-inch MBQ Air for that reason.
But things have changed significantly since then. The first 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro, and later the 16-inch MacBook Pro, provide more portable primary devices. I quite gladly take it with me to use that coffee-shop (or in those days, when there were coffee shops).
Second, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with keyboard is a highly capable Pseudo laptop, providing an extra option when I wanted portability on power – especially when traveling, as full day battery life is an amazing feature.
So my weak 2013 11-inch MBQbook Air is no longer mostly used.
It was used for a while, when my girlfriend decided to adopt it, now it is too big for her needs, but she later concluded that she does not need it at all. Apple has been calling the iPad a “computer” for some time now, and Steff is a case study: I gave him my back with an 11-inch iPad Bridge keyboard, and now he uses it as his only computer.
Needless to say, my MBQ Air is useless. I can’t work without it, so it remains my emergency backup machine in case anything happens to my master. And in that capacity he has been called into service twice. So I need a spare Mac. That’s what I don’t need New Spare Mac.
The lure of a 12-inch MB book
But I always had a secret hanking for a 12-inch MB book; It was just such a beautiful machine! I couldn’t justify anyone when I had a fairly good MacBook Air, or when it was downgraded in most respects it wasn’t even worth the cost of the upgrade.
No one’s wish was ever taken away, however, and of course the new one will have another big appeal: the opportunity to play with the next pay generation Mac. As one Apple silicone The 12-inch MBQbook, Curiosity alone will have a strong pull. Add to the lust of my original gadget, and it will be hard to resist.
The Chitya
EBay tells me that my BBQ Air is still around £ 300 ($ 400). If the new machine costs 9 9,999 (which would be a pound for a dollar ll with a 20% sales tax included in Apple’s list price), it’s an upgrade cost of £ 700. The optimistic view would be that Apple Paul passes on some of its own silicon savings to customers to help kickstart demand for the ARM pay generation, so instead it might be 99,899 (I personally don’t expect Apple Paul to come any lower. Than).
As a secondary machine, performance is not a priority, so it should be safely good for a lifetime of 5-7 years – matched to my Air, which will be able to play loud tones, but is unlikely to get any updates beyond that. So call it a round number of about 100 dollars (133 dollars) a year.
If it were Only A backup machine, I still hesitate, and would only favor holding the air until it dies. But if the 15-20 hour battery-life claim is true, this is the machine I will use as a complement to my MBP. Especially with the A-Series processor, which claims that battery life can be accurate. In general, I think MBQbooks deliver about 50-60% of their claimed life into actual consumption, while my iPad claimant meets life or even more.
As much as I love my iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard, I still sing a little more than the iPad person. All I do for leisure use is multitasking, and the iPad OS S is still very painful compared to the MOS Cos. My iPad will still have a role, but a 12-inch MBQbook that matches or kills its battery life? No competition for most content.
In that view, the 16-inch MBBook Pro will be my primary machine, and I will travel with it when I need to work from a hotel room. But for pure leisure travel and coffee shop use, the 12-inch MBQbook would be my machine of choice.
Really, then it would be my iPad which would be hard to justify. Definitely it will fall into the category of luxury product: have a nice, but optional. The 12-inch MBBook is not the only role the ebook reader can play, and can be easily solved with a Kindle.
So yes, if the report is true, I will place my order the next day. How do you? Please share your own thoughts about the rumored device in the comments.
