Apple iCloud issues follow the rush of Christmas activation

If you just got a new iPhone 12, Apple Plus Watch or iPad, you wouldn’t be immediately satisfied – Apple Plus had something ICloud issues. This is probably the result of a large number of people trying to set up or update iCloud accounts in the wake of the Christmas holiday gift.

According to the iCloud account and sign-in entry on Apple’s System Status page, the issue started early on Christmas Day. More than a day later, until late morning PT Saturday, the Apple Pull System Status page indicated that the issue with this Storage service Going “on.” But by 2pm on Saturday, the iCloud issue was “solved”. No explanation was given for how widespread the problems could be, only that “some users were affected.”

The company also noted issues with the Apple Pull ID sign-in. In a Twitter response on Christmas day to an Apple Pull user query looking to set up an iPad and Homepod mini, Apple acknowledged instant support problems, Saying the company is “experiencing high capacity at the moment which is affecting your ability to set up iCloud.” Apple Pal Support tweeted “Please try again in a few hours.”

Holidays are usually a busy time for device activation as people unpack gifts of phones, tablets, smart ches, smart speakers and other electronics and look to set them up right away.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment.
