Apex Legends dev responds to TTK concerns over Season 6

A developer of Respawn Entertainment has addressed some of the concerns regarding the new meta-weapon Apex Legends in Season 6, after players expressed frustration with the fast time to kill (TTK) of newly updated guns.

An interesting member of the Apex community drew up an entire data card comparing and explaining TTK comparisons for the Volt SMG, the old R-99, the Devotion with and without Turbocharger hop-up, and Rampart’s Sheila.

While the blade was done with care, Respawn Game Designer shocked David ‘AmusedApricot’ Bocek into saying that the numbers on display were inaccurate and offered a more revised version of the wider point.

AmusedApricot is working on the weapons of Apex Legends and was able to clarify something that was present among players related to the Volt SMG.

The Volt SMG is the latest rifle in Apex Legends.

“[The Volt SMG is] slower than the R99 and the Prowler, and on par with the Flatline / R301 for [TKK against someone with] 200 total health, ”said AmusedApricot in response to a since deleted comment calling the new season 6 weapon insanely strong.

The dev said Respawn is still investigating early feedback for potential changes in balance, but AmusedApricot called Volt’s 1.0 second TTK at 200 opponents of ‘health’ moderate for an SMG. ‘

Although the Volt’s capabilities may seem exaggerated at times, the Volt <100 shields are faster than ARs. '

For players confused about the explanations, AmusedApricot said he will look into more information that Respawn is willing to share with the public on the subject.

Hard figures on damage to various weapons, efficiency or any other minutiae directly from the developers would go a long way in resolving any concerns that people may have about the new season.

There has already been a lot of writing from leading members of the community about Apex’s gun damage in season 6. Direct lag to the actual gun stats is quite possible, but it could be a great way for the studio to get meaningful feedback from the to get chaos.

The new season of Apex Legends is still very young, and Respawn will be looking to make improvements as they see the need arise.
