Antonio Arroyo: Eric Anders Fight is off at URF Vegas 14

A moderate weight showdown between Eric Anders and Antonio Arroyo has dragged Saturday night from UFC Vegas 14 to the UFC Apex, the Brazilian fighter announced on his social media as early as possible.

Anders weighed less than 1.5 pounds on Friday morning, and Arroyo’s Cornman Mansello Alfaya wrote on his social media that his “opponent was ill and went to the hospital.”

“Ya Boi” (13-5) was soon run as a light heavyweight in 2019, leading 1-1 in the division before returning to 185 pounds with a split decision against Gerald Meyersheart. In his most recent appearance in May, Anders lost the decision against Krzysztof Jotko.

Arroyo (-3–3) was also in February with health-related issues, falling ill after weighing in for a 185-pound clash with Travin Giles at UFC 247. K tendender series Andre Muniz has not given up his fight with production since his UFC debut loss a year ago.

UFC Vegas will advance with 14 10 bouts. Former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos will take a late-notice replacement Paul Led Federer into the five-round main event. The UFC has not yet announced which bout will be moved to the main card after Anders-Arroyo is canceled.
