Police have arrested another suspect in connection with Monday’s chaos and deadly robbery of a landlord in East Denver, leaving two dead and one woman in critical condition.
Temeka Lenis Dudley, 44, was taken into custody near S. Parker Road and E. Leaf Avenue on Thursday and is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, burglary, and first-degree motor vehicle theft.
Police say Dudley was part of a suspicious trio, two of whom were donating reflective waste and pretending to be utility workers to gain access to Mark Outman’s home in the 900 block of North Monaco Parkway in mid-Monday.
Out 64-year-old Outman was shot dead at his home, while a family member was shot and seriously injured during the robbery, police said.
Police identified the three suspects in the incident as men but on Friday clarified that one of them was actually Dudley, who is a woman. Police described a third suspect waiting in a car outside the home during the robbery.
Joshua Humm, 38, fled the house on foot when police arrived, but was quickly apprehended, police said. He has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, robbery and possession of a weapon.
The other man, identified as 47-year-old Larry Hamm, walked out with a gun in his hand.
He was fatally shot after police tried to carjack two vehicles and successfully did so from a third vehicle. A police officer following Ham fired his gun into the passenger window, where Ham was sitting, striking him.
The driver of the vehicle, who did not recognize Ham, was not injured except for cutting some of the flying glass. Ham later died at a hospital.
A total of three Denver police officers fired their guns during the incident. All three officers are on modified duty while an investigation into the shooting is underway.
Denver police said Friday they believe “all suspects in the case are involved.”
