Android Auto Wireless dongle may arrive in December

Android Auto Toe, while not necessarily safe, makes it much easier to use navigation apps and control media while driving. However, there is a bit of a friction system set up when it comes to actual connection. A large number of cars use cables to run the Android run toe, but an ambitious project plans to bring a wireless version of Google’s platform into your current car using just Google Nuggets.

Simply named “AWireless” dongle is a clever little device that plugs into your car’s USB port that already has Android Auto Toe and enables a wireless connection with your smartphone. how?

Developer Emil Borkoni (by XDA) Has previously developed an app called “Agateway” that can use another Android smartphone to create a wireless version of Android in your car. It was a clever idea, but apparently it needed a completely different smartphone to limit. With this new gadget, Borkoni is trying to make that idea work without another smartphone, just a custom developed piece of hardware attached to your car’s USB port.

When used, this dongle will apparently take about 10 seconds to boot itself, and about 30-40 seconds to connect to your phone and start running on your car’s display.

Working prototypes already exist and inspections of some vehicles are already underway. We’ve seen products like this for Apple’s CarPlay, but nothing for Android for Toe. Even at $ 55 (the cost of carrying cargo), it’s also a fairly reasonable price.

Of course, this does not come without some warnings. For one, this dongle won’t work on just one car because each one is a little different. The biggest potential roadblocks, however, come from the underlying risk of the Indigogo campaign where “AAWireless” funding is currently provided. The target for the campaign is set at 2 220,000 over the next 44 days.

If all goes well, the dongles should start shipping to supporters in December this year.
