Garton, the famous cookbook author and star of the food network “Barefoot Contessa”, joined the “Full Circle” to talk about cooking for relaxation in challenging times.
Garten last year reflected on how he connected with fans through social media, including a viral video of him merging into a giant cosmo.
“So I started making things on Instagram to get people through it. And then one day I thought, I think we all need cocktails,” he says.
Anderson shared how much he loves watching Garten’s show, even though he doesn’t like cooking, and he admits he made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner last night.
“I was happy,” he said. “I love it right now.”
Gerten revealed that he also developed a new appreciation for the time-honored chief.
“I have to say at the beginning of the epidemic, the same (my husband) Jeffrey and I had. And I don’t think I’ll ever have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I mean my mother never made them. And we were like, this Is great. “
Garten said her current guilty pleasure is boiling soup and stew, including a unique twist on a classic recipe she shares in her new book “Modern Comfort Food”.
“I wanted to make it like a classic American beef stew, but I substituted the meat for the usually boring, short ribs, which tasted better. And then I made a variety of ingredients borrowed from French beef burgundy and put lots of red wine in it. And some cognac and that’s just satisfying. ”
