Thiago Silva has one more game left to play in his career at Paris Saint-Germain, and it’s a pretty big one. PSG will take over the winner from Bayern Munich and … [checks notes] … Olympique Lyonnais – so except for Bayern today to choke harder than on 19 May 2012, that will be Bayern – in Sunday’s Champions League final.
Afterwards, the PSG captain, who turns 36 next month, will call up time for his 8-year stay in the French capital. But apparently he is not quite ready to retire yet! In fact, he has a dream to play in England, so his agent, who is surprisingly Kia Joorabchian or Giuliano Bertolucci, is not keen on getting interested.
His latest attempt involves asking Chelsea for a bid, as reported by the Telegraph. Silva is apparently ready to take a massive paycheck to end up in England instead of returning to Italy, where most of the interest has come so far.
That’s probably not making Chelsea interested anymore, but if you’re the agent, it doesn ‘t hurt to ask. In recent years we may have considered signing a golden oldie to add “experience” and “winning mentality” or whatever, but hopefully we will stick to the new mo of developing such qualities in the home and only spend money on the best available (young) talent.
