Analysts: iPhone 12 shipped without accessories, may be more expensive than iPhone 11

A new report from analysts added TrendForce this week, reports confirm that it will ship iPhone 12 without accessories like wired EarPods and a power brick. The report also aims to show Apple’s pricing plans for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro series.

TrendForce operates a variety of other reports and suggests that Apple ship the iPhone 12 without a charger in the box and without wired EarPods. Other analysts, such as Ming-Chi Kuo, have reported this in the past. Kuo has suggested that Apple will sell a new 20W wall brick separately.

The report also sheds some light on Apple’s potential pricing strategy for the iPhone 12. According to TrendForce, here’s how Apple’s likely to price the iPhone 12 lineup:

  • iPhone 12: Starting price between $ 699 and $ 749
  • iPhone 12 Max: Starting price between $ 799 and $ 849
  • iPhone 12 Pro: Starting price between $ 1,049 and $ 1,099
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max: Starting price between $ 1,149 and $ 1,199

If these predictions of TrendForce turns out to be correct, these prices would represent an annual price increase for the iPhone 12 compared to the iPhone 11. Previous reporting has suggested such a possibility due to the more expensive 5G network components, but Apple intends to keep prices down with a variety of efforts.

In fact, Ming-Chi Kuo recently announced that Apple does not intend to pass on iPhone 12 cost increases to consumers. This suggests that the iPhone 12 lineup will be priced as much as the iPhone 11.

One important thing to keep in mind is that Apple is often pretty good at holding price information until an iPhone is released. More often than not, analysts’ predictions of iPhone prices, even if they are based on supply chain conversations, appear to be incorrect or only partially correct.
