Amy Schumer has revealed that she has Lyme disease.
The comedian told fans she could have had it “for years” and asked for advice in a post on her Instagram account.
“Does anyone get LYME this summer? I got it and I’m on doxycycline,” he wrote. “Any advice? Can you get a glass of wine or 2 on it? I know how to stay out of the sun.”
The 39-year-old traincracker actress was reassured by supporters that she feels “good” and is excited to get rid of the disease.
He also shared a throwback photo of himself catching a fishing pole as a child.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that is transmitted to humans through infected ticks.
Early stage symptoms may include headaches, flu-like symptoms, joint pain, and sometimes rashes that may look like bullshit.
Most people with the disease get better after taking antibiotics, although some may take months, while a very small number may have symptoms that have persisted for years.
Earlier this year, Justin Bieber said he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Singer Avril Lavigne, another high-profile name who has battled the disease, told Billboard she had been out of bed for two years.
Schumer had previously opened up about her health, describing her struggles with morning sickness when she was pregnant with Jean David in the morning.
