American Airlines will resume filling planes to capacity starting July 1, the company announced Friday.
“As more people continue to travel, customers may notice that flights are reserved at capacity starting July 1,” the airline said in a statement.
“American will continue to notify customers and allow them to switch to more open flights when they become available, all without incurring any costs.”
The free flight modifications, which include the date, time and location, will be in effect until September 30, the company said.
In addition to an existing mask requirement, passengers will be surveyed before the flight “if they have had free choroanvirus symptoms in the past 14 days,” according to the statement.
Prior to check-in, all travelers will complete a symptom checklist developed in consultation with Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
“Our clients trust us to make every aspect of their trip safe. We will not disappoint them, ”said director of customer service, Alison Taylor.
The airline told The Post in May that it had a flight capacity limited to 50 percent.
