We’re a little over a month away from the unveiling of the AMD Big new graphics cards, but Team Red has fascinated us with the first look of its upcoming Radian RX6000 series.
AMD Radeon took to Twitter on Monday afternoon, revealing what looks like a full-fledged monster of a graphics card, with a new-cooler design. And AMD fans can get a closer look at the cards on Fortnite of all things, through AMD’s Battle Arena in the same game. If you want to log in and take a look at the card, you can do so with the code “8651-9841-1639”.

Luckily, if you don’t want to download Fortnite and navigate to AMD’s custom maps, some friendly users have shared a lot of screenshots on Twitter.
For anyone interested I took a couple screenshot shots. The code in the post brought me to a matchmaking hub with 5877-8461-8283 on the wall. Pic.twitter.com/pdysKfK7rcSeptember 14, 2020
AMD hasn’t shared anything in terms of specs or performance, but at least we know for sure that the company is actually going with the Raden RX6000 series as the name of the graphics cards. Elsewhere, we have to wait until October 28 for confirmation.
Let’s do some speculation anyway
While AMD doesn’t share any hard specs or performance information, that doesn’t mean we can’t learn a little about upcoming graphics cards by looking at pictures.
The first thing that immediately became clear is that AMD’s reference board is using a triple-fan design for whatever the card is – perhaps a flagship. This isn’t exactly a new place to cover AMD, the 2018 Raden VII also had a triple-fan reference design, but that means it’s going to be a bit of a monster graphics card.
For example, the AMD Raden RX 5000 series, led by the RX 5700 XT, all used single-fan blower-style reference coolers. That decision wasn’t exactly popular, but at least in our testing – the cards didn’t have much of a problem keeping themselves cool. Moving towards a triple-fan design could be an indication that the graphics card will need more significant cooling, as the power requirements are much higher or AMD actually pushes the clock more (or both).
Another thing we can get from this image is a 2 x 8-pin PCIe power connection. This configuration can reach up to 5W5W, so honestly it doesn’t tell us much about how much interest the graphics card will have – both the RTX 800080 and the RTX 909090 need the same power connectors, even if you have to connect a 12-pin adapter for the installer version. .
It tells us that AMD is not adopting a 12-pin power connector, however, probably would be great news for anyone who doesn’t like living a dongle life on their desktop computer.
We’re currently in the process of downloading Fortnite to see what’s happening in the near future, but you can be sure that we’ll update this article if there’s any significant detail missing.
