Amazon to build new follow-up center at Jupiter, creating ‘hundreds’ of new jobs

JUPITER, Fla. – Amazon announced Thursday that it is building a new one million-square-foot shopping center in northern Palm Beach County.

The online shopping giant said the new facility will create “hundreds” of full-time jobs.

“The addition of a third Amazon facility in our province is another impetus for our logistics and distribution industry,” said Kelly Smallridge, president and CEO of the Palm Beach County Business Development Board.

The new follow-up center will be located at 4490 Corporate Rd North at Florida Research Park off the Bee Line Highway.

The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2021.

“Not only will it create several hundred jobs that work directly for Amazon, everything from human resources to technology to packaging, but there will also be an enormous amount of construction tasks,” Smallridge said.

Last month, Amazon said it was a new delivery station in Boca Raton that would create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs.

Amazon currently operates seven tracking and sorting centers in Florida, located in Miami, Jacksonville, Davenport, Orlando, Ruskin and Lakeland.

The company said it has created more than 30,000 jobs in Florida since 2010.
