As if buying a PS5 wasn’t difficult enough despite having so little stock, some UK buyers of Sony’s Next-Gen consoles ended up in a situation where their consoles didn’t come.
Amazon’s various UK customers received shipments of random items, including cat food, while others received nothing. To compensate them, Amazon has now announced that affected customers can re-order the console by contacting customer service.
Initially, Amazon returned to customers who did not receive their PS5, or offered a variety of credits to make it. Under normal circumstances it wouldn’t be so bad, but many people weren’t happy seeing how hard it was to get the PS5. Apparently, the affected customers wanted the console without rejoining to fight the bots (and other humans).
Amazon had hinted that it would be possible to get a new console from customer service at that time, but it has now been confirmed. It’s very good news for those who stole their PS5 to go home, although the best part is that they will be able to receive a replacement within 14 days of ordering. The provided PS5s do not disappear secretly again.
While you may find it easier to just send a new console automatically, there are other factors to consider. The first is that the refund has already been processed and requires the customer’s permission before recharging on Amazon.
Unfortunately UK customers don’t just deal with lost or stolen PS5s. Various Reddit and Twitter posts confirm that customers in the US and Canada have failed to complete the console after being marked as delivery.
Its impact is not just on Amazon customers. There appears to be a suspiciously higher number of Reddit posts mentioning that the FedEx lost the PS5 in transit while accusing the delivery service of not taking enough care to investigate.
FedEx is definitely responsible for this lost / stolen PS5 and X / X from r / FedEx
While we, like the person in the tweet below, can’t see any reports of customers receiving air fryers (which by the way have terrible graphics), the problem of missing PS5 consoles is clearly widespread which is exacerbated by extreme demand.
With the PS5 article on where to buy, we’re here to help you get the next-gen games console. Check that we track retailers who have new PS5 stock scattered.
Happy # PS5 each day. Tried to document the unveiling of one of our, but Amazon tricked us with an unsolicited air fryer instead (after giving us the delivery password). Did anyone else have this problem today? pic.twitter.com/99IUSzSJUUNovember 19, 2020
Unfortunately, Amazon UK is only honoring this promise if customers confirm that they want the PS5 by the end of December 5, Amazon customers in other regions should be able to ask the same, as it is a large company.
For those who have purchased from other retailers, your best bet is to continue pasting customer service and hopefully they plan a replacement. We suggest you do this as soon as possible, and pray that your PS5 really arrives at this time.
Amazon UK is still investigating these incidents.
