Update: The list has now been changed to remove the date of the first line, and it has been put at the end where it simply says “Coming in 2021” now. No comment yet on if it was a missing error (probably).
Original article follows, and I find it worth discussing whether an annual delay is possible / likely / wise:

I thought it was a little strange that Microsoft did not provide such a time frame when they delayed Halo Infinite until 2021, given that it was their highest profile release for the system and of course everyone wants to know when they can play it, if not right at the launch of the Xbox Series X.
Today I was informed that the official Xbox Series X page on Amazon mentions the release date for Halo Infinite as not only 2021, but Holiday 2021, which implies that it is a very yearis it worth a delay.
A few things are possible here.
This may not be correct, and it’s the Amazon page being rewritten to say Holiday 2021 instead of Holiday 2020 without anyone canceling the “Holiday.” A few regions previously had the release date of Xbox Series X on this same page called “Thanksgiving,” which was later changed.
Of course, the other option is that this is true, and Amazon jumped the gun on an announcement.
I can see on both sides that this is a possible time window for when Halo Infinite will actually arrive.
On the one hand, a delay of half a year seems impossibly long for a game that many would have assumed in just over two months. Microsoft really wants to get a system vendor on Xbox Series X as soon as they can, hence why this was originally a launch title. Slow it down the whole year seems almost unthinkable.
On the other hand, we’ve heard many stories, 343 of which have resurfaced, about the turbulent evolution of Halo Infinite, and of course we have the recently publicized game itself, which was widely criticized as unfinished. So yeah, maybe it is does an additional year required. A release date for Holiday 2021 would also be a prime slot for it, given that Microsoft apparently wants to lean in the window of Christmas sales if it would help them the most. There is a reason that almost all major releases at least try to shoot for that window (even if many are delayed until spring). And then there is the fact that Microsoft has not yet released a specific window of 2021, while a game like Deathloop also slowed down, at least Q2 said 2021 when it announced the delay.
Given that this Amazon page has previously proved problematic for info on Series X, I’m approached to make this a placeholder issue with the text rather than leaking an actual schedule. The official Xbox Series X page for Microsoft has this date nowhere (or 2021 at all) under the Halo section.
We’ll see if 343 if Microsoft can clear this up, but no, I do not think it’s entirely out of the question that Halo Infinite will be shipped back another year, even if I pinch after that something is unlikely. More is coming.
