Amazon Fire TV adds new accessibility feature for text banners

Amazon announced a new Text Banner Accessibility feature on its Fire TV interface designed to help users with a narrow bike lane. The banner is a customizable block of text that can be placed and placed in any location on your screen to help viewers read and select options on Amazon Fire TV and Prime Video interfaces.

This screensaver is an example of what the text banner looks like. This shows the banner firmly below the left of the screen with white text in blue for easy reading. Text Banner can be enabled and customized within Settings under Accessibility.

This new feature will help viewers with conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinitis pigmentosa, making it easier for these customers to enjoy movies, videos, and more.

This new feature is Amazon’s latest addition to build an accessible interface experience, and adds to current features such as VoiceView and Screen Magnifier.
