Alyssa Milano opens up about the continuing impact of her battle with the coronavirus. The 47-year-old actress filmed a video for her followers on social media showing how she experiences hair loss – months of her first COVID-19 symptoms.
“I just wanted to show you how much hair came out of my head as a result of COVID,” she said, before running her favorite detangling brush through her long locks. She took three swipes through her hair with the brush, then showed the clumps of hair slipping out.
Further brushing allowed even more hairs to come out.
‘One brush – this is my hair loss from COVID-19,’ she concluded, holding up the clumps of hair to the camera once she’s done. “Wear a damn mask.”
When posting the video, Milano used the hashtag “#LongHauler,” which is thought to refer to patients with coronavirus who experience symptoms for months after their diagnosis.
In another tweet, she wrote that “65% of COVID-19 survivors surveyed reported hair loss, including long-term effects.”
Milano also advised anyone recovering from the coronavirus who is still experiencing symptoms to get a breast CT scan, cardiac MRI and blood work, as per the recommendations of their doctors.
For those recovering from #Covid who still have symptoms – my doctors suggest they follow up with:
CT scan for breast
MRI of cardiac
Blood tests:
CRP
DDimer
CBC
LFT

Milano revealed that she had struggled with the coronavirus and its persistent effects in two recent social media posts.
She stated that she had been ‘acutely ill’ earlier this year with COVID-19 symptoms, but in March tested negative for the virus and negative for antibodies.
“I had never been this kind of sick before,” she said. ‘Everything hurts. Loss of smoke. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I could not breathe. I could not keep any food in me. I lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks. I was confused. Low grade fever. And the headache was terrible. I basically had all the Covid symptoms. ”
Four months later, Milano tested positive for antibodies, confirming that she had indeed suffered from the virus. She says she still suffers from health complications, which she thinks are related to the disease. The last commitment sent her on Friday.
‘I still have a lot of symptoms. I’m what they call a ‘long hauler,’ ‘they tweeted Saturday. ‘Last night I had real pregnancy in my chest. I went to the ER to make sure it was not a blood gland. Fortunately, that was not the case. ‘
“This virus is searching. Please take it seriously, ‘she added.
I was acutely ill w / Covid19 in April. I still have a lot of symptoms. I’m what they call a ‘long hauler’. Last night I had real pregnancy in my chest. I went to the ER to make sure it was not a blood gland. Fortunately, that was not the case.
