Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has plenty to say ahead of the Champions League quarter-final between Barcelona and Bayern Munich and shows no sign of stopping.
The Munich boss has spoken to Sky Germany about Lionel Messi’s threat and is confident Alphonso Davies is up to the challenge of surrendering to Argentina.
“Alphonso had a great season and was rightfully voted Rookie of the season,” he said.
‘If Messi plays on his left, Alphonso will take care of him. It will be a difficult but interesting task. Davies is not dribbling or exaggerating this season. ‘
Davies spoke about Messi in the build-up to the game. He told UEFA that Messi is one of his favorite players and that he followed him all the time when he was growing up.
Bayern manager Hansi Flick also spoke about Messi in his pre-match press conference and said his team will have to defend as a unit to stop the 33-year-old.
“It is not Bayern Munich against Messi, but against Barcelona. Of course, we thought about how we would play against him.
‘It is possible that we will play together to face him as a team. We need to recognize the spaces, put him under pressure and try to win the one-on-one duels. ”
The Bundesliga champions are favorite to advance to the semi-finals, but Barcelona will know that as long as they have Messi, they have a chance.
