The grave of Alonzo Brooks – who was found mysteriously dead after a Kansas party in 2004 – has been dug up immediately after “Unsolved Mysteries” to draw new attention to the unsolved case.
Alonzo’s body was exhumed Tuesday morning in Topeka after the FBI recently reopened the case. The new Netflix series covered Alonzo’s disappearance and death, and his family says advice has been coming in since the new docuseries fell.
For those who haven’t seen it … Alonzo, 23, went to a party in La Cygne, KS, in April 2004 with some friends, where he was believed to be one of the few blacks. Witnesses described the crowd as mostly white, southern, and racist.
His friend says that Alonzo almost quarreled with a boy over a girl, but he still stayed at the party, even after his friends left. He never came home.
There are so many unanswered questions about the disappearance and death of Alonzo Brooks. It may be the key to solving this mystery. Help the FBI close the case and a $ 100K reward could be yours. “No Ride Home” is now airing on Netflix. #unsolvedmysteries #fbi pic.twitter.com/tWJZVo5ZdX

The next day, Brooks’ boots and hat were found across the road from the party property. However, her body was not discovered until May 1, 2004 in a nearby stream.
Initial medical reports listed his death as inconclusive due to advanced decomposition of the body, and authorities were left with little concrete evidence. However, people close to him were sure that he did not commit suicide or accidentally drowned … they believed that he was killed.
The FBI now calls his death a hate crime and has also offered a $ 100k reward for information leading to an arrest. Based on the exhumation of Alonzo’s body, first reported by KSNT, there may be some serious progress in the case.
