The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports 479 new positive cases of the coronavirus on Sunday.
That brings the state total to 89,854.

Along with the new cases, the Health Department reports four new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from coronavirus statewide to 6,753.
“As the entire state is now in the green phase, we must remain committed to protecting ourselves against COVID-19 by wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings this holiday weekend,” said Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, in a press. launching. “Pennsylvania has been a model for the country on how to effectively reopen using a careful and measured approach. However, the virus has not disappeared and we are seeing cases increase, especially in southwestern Pennsylvania. “
Masks are required in all businesses and whenever you leave home. Consistent use of masks is essential to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, authorities say.
Nursing and personal care homes have seen 17,923 resident coronavirus cases, and 3,346 cases among employees, for a total of 21,296 at 709 separate facilities in 52 counties, according to the Health Department.
Most of the state’s coronavirus deaths, 4,592 of them, have occurred in residents of nursing or personal care centers.
