You are solely responsible for your comments and by using TribLive.com you agree to our Terms of Service.
We are moderating comments. Our goal is to provide content commentary for a general readership. By screening submissions, we provide a space in which readers can share intelligent and informed commentary that improves the quality of our news and information.
While most comments will be posted as they are on the topic and not abusive, moderating decisions are subjective. We will make them as careful and consistent as we can. Due to the volume of reader comments, we are not able to control individual decisions about moderation with readers.
We appreciate thoughtful comments that represent a range of views that make their point quickly and politely. We make an effort to protect discussions from repeated comments, whether by the same reader or different readers
We follow the same standards for taste as the daily. A few things we will not tolerate: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, blasphemy (including expletives and letters followed by dashes), commercial promotion, impersonality, incoherence, proselytizing and SHOUTING. Do not include URLs to web pages.
We do not edit comments. They are approved as removed. We reserve the right to edit a comment quoted when an article is quoted. In this case, we can repair spelling and punctuation.
We welcome strong opinions and criticism on our work, but we do not want comments to be disturbed by discussions about our policies and we will therefore moderate.
We value it when readers and people who are quoted in articles or blog posts emphasize facts or fact and investigate all allegations. But these suggestions should be sent via email. In order to avoid distracting other readers, we will not publish comments that suggest a correction. Instead, corrections will be made in a blog post as in an article.
