Even a year after it aired, the 21st season of Big Brother is still very controversial. On social media, there is a leaked text thread in which several cast members are fans in a riot over racist messages. Several houseguests in the thread have confirmed the validity of the messages.
‘Big Brother 21’ was a controversial season due to racism
Big Brother season 21 was one that got a lot of controversy because of the racist remarks and misogynistic remarks of several households, mostly notary Jack Matthews. The season has probably received the most backlash since the show’s infamous 15th season, with racist remarks. It started with Jackson Michie’s almost direct targeting and eviction of David Alexander on the first night in the house.
Matthews was most criticized for the way he approached and talked about fellow housekeeper, Kemi Fakunle. Matthews’ Gr8ful, got significant backlog throughout the season for her treatment of the other households. The alliance included Analyze Talavera, Christie Murphy, Holly Allen, Isabella Wang, Jack Matthews, Jackson Michie, Nick Maccarone, and Tommy Bracco.
Production rarely posted these comments and interactions on the show, but views could be seen on live feeds and via spoiler Twitter accounts. One of those moments that was not recorded was when Maccarone Fakunle called a ‘piece of s ** t’ and said he would spit on her.
The show actually did not show any of the problematic moments until a segment in which Matthews talks to Fakunle about a bottle.
A text thread with several toilets from the seasonal leak
On Saturday, a text message thread is leaking via the Twitter account @GamerVev. The names that appear directly in the posts are Nick Maccarone, Jack Matthews, Kathryn Dunn, Holly Allen and Jackson Michie. Other names are not fully confirmed for all nine people in the thread, but they are believed to be the other members of Gr8ful. Jessica Milagros later confirmed she was in the interview and Isabella Wang confirmed she was not.
In the alleged messages, Allen says she should have a reunion on her family’s ranch and do activities like horse riding and shooting. Maccarone says he would be ‘under’ and that he was ‘afraid to shoot a gun.’ He addresses Matthews and says he will “come back and shoot something and it will be black” and that there would be ‘rebellion’.
Then Maccarone calls out, and says, “Wow … nick we just do not leave.” Maccarone then says, “I did not mean it on purpose. I meant that people would do that to it.” Although Maccarone started it, this did not stop Matthews from going through with it, saying, ‘I’ll turn the gun sideways !!! KILLSHOT. “Maccarone then called Matthews’ answers” the funniest thing I’ve ever read. ”
Here’s how Kat Dunn approached the matter
While Big Brother fans tried to find out the authenticity of the messages, Dunn took to Twitter, saying they were true and that she left the thread in July.

In a series of now-deleted posts, Dunn said in part, ‘I’ve been sitting here thinking of the best way to tackle the group chat that is leaking on twitter today. I really do not know the right thing to say at the moment, but I also do not want to sit here in silence, because silence contributes to the problem. “Dunn started getting questions from fans about why she stayed in the conversation when it was problematic.
“Also clarification because some people ask: I left the group text at a later moment due to some persistent toxicity between me and another person,” she added. I posted that screenshot of myself, leaving a proof that I am no longer a part, and not acceptable, right away after this convoy. Just try to be honest with all of you. She later said she felt it was as if people had blamed ‘the blame’ on her when she was ‘really doing the best’ she could in the situation.
Dunn later deleted all the tweets, saying, “I deleted the tweets, not because I did not mean everything I said, but because some people took it the wrong way.”
Jessica Milagros also speaks out
Although her name was not shown in the leaked thread, Milagros confirmed on Twitter that she was in the thread. She tweeted, ‘I did not want to sleep w / out and said, yes, I just read the tweets, messages, DMs, comments. Yes I was in the GC & it was real. I know that action is the only remedy for competence. I have acted in many forms and will continue to plead for those who need better allies. ”

When fans asked her why she was in the conversation, sei se she “did not like or spoke the said text” and did not “expand” weekly to the conversation as it is “Just to get back from work and see 300 texts.” She also confirmed that the thread no longer exists and said that most of the time it stood for her.
