All-Star album ‘Music From The Home Front’ beats Bob Dylan to Australian crown


It took something special to keep Bob DylanThe album returned from the crest of Australia’s album chart. Music from the front of the house (Bloodlines / Universal) is something special.

Michael Gudinski’s stellar virtual concert companion album peaks at No. 1 on the ARIA album chart, and becomes the ninth homegrown album to peak in 2020.

Music from the front of the house It aired on Channel 9 for free on ANZAC Day, April 25, with performances by artists such as Tones And I, Kevin Parker, Vance Joy, Delta Goodrem, Dean Lewis, Crowded House, and Jimmy Barnes.

All proceeds from the album go to the Support Act, the charity that provides crisis relief services for artists, crew and music workers.

Ranked # 2 on this week’s album poll is Bob Dylan. Rough and noisy ways (Columbia / Sony), the composer’s legendary 39th studio album. It is Dylan’s first appearance in the top three since Modern times ruled the national charter in September 2006.

Rough and noisy ways outshines peak 8 for Dylan’s latest original album, Storm, which reached number 8 in September 2012.

Since then, Dylan has released a trio of cover albums, with Shadows in the night the best graphic artist of the lot, reaching number 8 in February 2015.

Sydney outfit Ocean alley gets the best number 3 of his career with his third studio set, Lonely diamond (UNFD / Orchard). It is the follow-up of Chiaroscuro, which reached number 11 in early 2019 and featured the winner of Triple J Hottest 100 “Trust”.

Lady Gagaformer leader of the list Chromatic (Interscope / Universal) remains at n. ° 4 while Lamb Of God completes the top 5 with his new namesake outfit. Arc number 5 for Lamb of God (Nuclear Blast / Universal) is the highest peak of the American band metal band to date in Australia.

On the ARIA singles chart, DaBaby’s “Rockstar” (Interscope / Universal) with Roddy Ricch rules for the sixth week in a row, while SAINt JHN’s “Roses” (Sony) ranks at n. # 2 and “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” (Columbia / Sony) by New Zealand producer Jawsh 685 and American R&B singer Jason Derulo jump 24-3 in their second week.

The new highest entry in the current box belongs to hip-hop trio Adelaide Hilltop Hoods, whose “I’m Good?” (Hilltop Hoods / Universal) begins at number 46. The single has been released to help raise funds for the Support Act’s “Roadies” Fund.
