Elgato, a company owned by Corsar, known for its gaming and creator-centric streaming tech, is expanding into smart lighting. It has introduced light strips, packed with thin striped 108 decibel LEDs that can be sticky adhesive, bent and mounted to fit wherever you want them to go. This can be controlled via a free app on OS Kos, Windows 10, iOS or Android, or Wi-Fi (only 2.4GHz) from Algato’s stream deck hardware, which will obviously offer ernda integration. For two meter (approximately 79 inches) lights including the Algato controller lights plug-in and power adapter. Charges 59.99.
This is similar in execution to most connected light strips, including Philips Hughes, with rigid stream deck integration via plug-ins. Not to be confused with some capabilities like the Philips Hue Play Gradient Light Strip that can sync light to your screen (only after purchasing some expensive extra hardware), Algato’s more affordable solution is just for looks.
If you’re a streamer that appears on-camera, Elgato says the LED inside the light strip is flicker-free. He says some of the other options look exactly to the naked eye, but can create a blurry effect when you’re on Q-Mera. Speaking of other specs, this is the RGBWWD LED that offers both cool and warm white support in addition to millions of colors. It has a maximum output of 2,000-lumens.
Elgato, eagerly aware of its target audience, is also announcing wave panels. This piece of intellectual foam can be mounted in your space (either by adhesive or with a wall anchor) to improve acoustics. They will probably be useful if you are recording your voice. Their look is so beautiful, and Algato is releasing them in multiple colors. It costs ડ 100 for six panels and mounts.
Updated 9:39 AM and March 4, added prices for Wave Panels.
