Alex Trebek shares some positive news about his health as he continues treatment for stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
The long time Danger! The host posted a video on Thursday telling fans that he has continued his cancer treatment while the game show has been on hiatus amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“I’m fine,” he said. “I have continued my treatment and it is giving results, although I am very tired. My numbers are good. I feel great.”
He has done so well, in fact, that he wrote a book: a memoir to be published on July 21.
Trebek also took the opportunity to connect some exciting news for Danger! amateurs. “I’m here at home filming show openings for some Danger! episodes that will appear in July, “he said. For the first time, the show will open its vaults for a four-week retrospective series beginning July 20. According to a press release, the retrospective will feature memorable contestants, exciting moments and unique tournaments from The show’s 36-year history, including the series premiere, which aired on September 10, 1984.
The show’s producers reviewed nearly 8,000 episodes and have chosen 20 of the most compelling shows in the series’ history, many of which have not been seen since its first broadcast. The full schedule can be found at Jeopardy.com.
Trebek closed his video with a message to his fans. “Once again, I can’t wait to go back to the studio and start recording shows for the new season in September,” he said. “In the meantime, my wish for all of you: to stay safe.”
