The Washington football team has been forced to make even more changes under the center. Alex Smith injured his right leg in the first half of Washington’s Week 14 match against the San Francisco 49ers and was also sent off to the locker room as early as the end of the second quarter. This is especially worrisome because Smith’s right foot is the same one that seriously injured him a few years ago which cost him almost a career.

Fox’s broadcast crew noted that Smith’s injury was typically a calf injury and that the training staff would continue to work on it to senile his right leg. After Smith is out, second-year quarterback Dwayne Huskins steps in. Haskins started the first four games of the 2020 season and completed 61 percent of his passes for 939 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He was then benched for Kyle Allen, who ankled against the New York Giants in the 9th week, which opened the door for Smith to return.

Smith struggled Sunday before suffering a foot injury, as he completed 8 of 19 passes and one hurdle for 57 yards in the first half. During Washington’s first drive to Washington in the third quarter, he was seen packing sideways trying to get wet.
