Alex Dickerson’s three Homers lead the Giants’ historic offensive offensive

DENVER – Alex Dickerson hit three home runs and a career-high match with six RBIs as the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 23-5 on Tuesday.

Brandon Crawford and Donovan Solano also ended the night with six RBIs, marking for the first time in MLB history that there were six RBIs out of three players in the game.

“It’s the best game I’ve ever played in my life,” said Dickers, who missed a fourth home run in the final innings in the ninth inning but settled for a 41-foot-41 double that reached the warning. Track in the center.

“I don’t think I’ve seen so many barrel balls of one person in a single game before,” said Crawford, who made home in three of his hit films. “I thought he got this last too. That would be great.”

Dickerson finished with 16 total bases (three homers, two doubles), by Willie Maze on April 30, 1961, at Milwaukee Braves, setting a Giants franchise record. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the 15th player in MLB history, and only the 12th since 1901.

“It’s an incredible company,” Deckers said. “Things [Mays] He did it all in his career and in the sense for San Francisco, it is an incredible honor for him to mention it in the same breath. “

Solano also got four hits, and Brandon Belt and Joy Bart got three hits as the Giants collected 27 hits and scored in every innings except the ninth to win for the 10th time in 13 games.

The Giants hit .519 (27-for-52) for the night, their best batting average in a game on July 25, 1961.

The Giants have the most 27 hits in a game by an NL team in more than 20 seasons. The most recent NL team with more than 26 hits in the game was the Cincinnati Reds, who had 28 on May 19, 1999, at Kurs Field.

“There were a lot of good performances to go up and down the lineup,” said Giants manager Kap Gapler.

The Rockies had the third-highest allowed of 23 runs in team history. The Chicago Cubs scored 26 against Colorado on August 18, 1995, and the Reds scored 24 in the 1999 game. Matching the Cubs’ hit total in the 1995 game, the Rockies were second with 27 hits from the Giants.

Since the Rockies’ first season in 1993, the NL team has made at least 27 hits, including three games. All three courses have been in the field.

“We’ve had to circle the bit gun here,” said Rockies manager Bud Blake. “With pitching, we had a fairly rough night on the mound, it was paired with a fairly rough night in the plate. This is a bad combination. We’ve kept the two together, that’s for sure.”

Giants starter Kevin Gaussman (2-2) went five innings and gave up two hits and two runs, both on solo home runs by Garrett Hampson.

Catchers Drew Butera played the last two innings for the Rockies. When he was a member of the Kansas City Royals, he was the positioning player from 2018 and the pitching look of his first technical career.

Dickerson touched on his power display – the first multihemer game of his career – with a huge, first-inning solo shot that landed on the third deck with a right field look. John Gray’s (-4–4) 808080-foot drive was the longest home run by a Giants player since at least 2015.

He kept the ball in the Giants ’sixth innings of seven runs with a two-run drive in the second inning and a three-run homer from Gyro Diaz, the biggest of their night. Crawford also had a six-run homer in the sixth.

Dickerson doubled and scored between his last two homers, ran in the eighth and doubled on the central-field warning track near Butera in the ninth.
