Alec Baldwin is a S.N.L. Said goodbye to playing Trump

“I don’t think I’ve ever had the pleasure of losing a job before!”

IDK If you’ve heard, but we just had an election, and after days of sweat / waiting / crying / panic, the winner has finally been announced.

Come Medi Central

Joke, you barely fell asleep in five days waiting for the results to come.

Anyway, no new episode S.N.L. The election results were broadcast the same day they were announced, so you can imagine the cast of the show and the writers said a lot about the whole affair.

One of them was Alec Baldwin, who has been running Donald Trump’s show since 2016.

As the election was called, the actor, who won an Emmy for portraying the President, made his feelings quite clear.

That’s right, the end of the Trump presidency is the end of the trademark S.N.L. Operation.

NBC

His first appearance as Donald Trump was the Season 42 premiere, in which he parodied Trump’s first presidential debate against Hillary Clinton. I think I’m 86 years old since this first aired.

For his final hurray, Baldwin-as-Trump appeared in the cold open and delivered a speech reminiscent of the president’s recent remarks from the White House.

He then took the stage and turned to the piano, where he began to play a large version of “Macho Man” by the villagers, before saying, “This is not the end of America. I’ll see you in court!”

NBC

Trump played the song with The Village People’s “YMCA” at his rallies ahead of the election.

That moment is reminiscent of the first S.N.L. The post-2016 episode, when Kate McKinnon-as-Hillary Clinton played “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen.

NBC

The moment with Kate-a-Hillary was more pleasing, there was definitely more to it on the ironic side.

At the end of the show, Baldwin gave a hint, “You’re welcome” for his years of service in the job, which, he says, wasn’t always easy to nail.

He also tweeted a farewell message after the show.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we look at Trump’s appearance a little more S.N.L., But this certainly feels like parting for now.
