Dallas Turner Announces College Decision On CBS Sports Headquarters

Dallas Turner, a four-star defensive end from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, verbally engaged with Alabama on Wednesday. Turner chose Crimson Tide in more than 30 scholarship offers across the country, most of them from Power Five.
Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma were finalists for Turner’s talents in addition to Alabama. The 6-foot, 4-pound, 235-pound prospect is the No. 2 defensive end of the weak side, the No. 10 prospect in Florida, and the 44th overall recruit for the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.
“I am very confident in that show. The amount of greatness in that show, the high expectations they have for their players on and off the field,” Turner told CBS Sports HQ after making his announcement. “Everyone who had left Alabama said they had reached their full potential there and I felt I could do it there.”
As a third year student in 2019, Turner (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) totaled 75 tackles and 15 sacks at American Heritage High School and was named MaxPreps High School Junior All-American.

Turner’s engagement is Alabama’s 10th for the 2021 cycle. After initially starting slowly, Tide has begun building the kind of class coach Nick Saban used to be in Tuscaloosa. Alabama now ranks Class 19 with eight of its 10 commitments that are of the blue-chip variety and rank among the 247 top recruits nationwide for 247 sports.
Alabama has finished with one of the top five classes each year since 2008.
Turner comes from an athletic background. His father, Delon, played college basketball at Florida A&M and ranks as the second-leading scorer of all time and third-leading rebounder of all time in program history.
