How did Dave Portnoy become famous?
Dave Portnoy was born in Massachusetts in 1977. After graduating from high school, Portnoy moved to Boston and began working at a market research company. However, Portnoy’s interests were decidedly more sports oriented, and in 2003 he founded Barstool Sports. The pop culture blog has a sports theme, although it explores many topics of interest to both Portnoy and its audience.
Over the years, Barstool Sports has grown into a massive Internet conglomerate, with plenty of podcasts, reviews, sports screenings, and interviews.
Despite everything, Portnoy has remained at the helm. Although the content of the site is often controversial (and Portnoy himself has been embroiled in more than a few disputes) there is no doubt that Barstool Sports has made Portnoy very rich.

In 2018 Dave Portnoy launched a new feature on Barstool Sports, a YouTube video channel dedicated to pizza reviews. His “One Bite Pizza Reviews” were founded on Portnoy’s love of pizza, and the fact that he apparently indulges in a slice of pizza every day.
Portnoy follows a simple process when filming all of his pizza reviews. He buys a whole pizza, takes it out of the restaurant, and then takes a bite out of the pizza. At the end of the review, he delivers a verdict and rates the pizza, assigning it somewhere between one and 10.
Her channel “One Bite Pizza Reviews” has become incredibly popular, with more than 260,000 subscribers and literally hundreds of video reviews. His videos have garnered millions of views, and he frequently receives guest stars to help him review the pizza.
Portnoy has even invited fans to give their own take on their favorite pizzas, with the Vinnie’s Pizzeria and Ristorante pizza pie earning Portnoy’s top marks. Portnoy prides himself on his knowledge of pizza and is a fan of the most gourmet slices; however, one of his most popular reviews is the most basic of all pizza chains.
Dave Portnoy’s popular Chuck E. Cheese review
In early 2019, Dave Portnoy filmed a video in which he reviewed the boy’s Chuck E. Cheese pizza. Since then, the video has become one of the most popular in Portnoy, with over 1.2 million views and hundreds of comments from funny fans. While Portnoy didn’t really love pizza, he considered it “better than many other places” and ultimately gave pizza a rating of six.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring, Portnoy has not diminished its mission to rate all pizzas in the US pizzas “We’re going to move on to frozen pizzas,” Portnoy said recently on Fox News. “We will keep hitting these frozen pizzas until this crown hits the road.”
