AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament, Episode 2

AEW tonight hosts its “Deadly Draw” Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament (Monday, August 10, 2020) on their YouTube channel starting at 7 p.m. ET. The tournament rules dictate that teams are determined by a random draw, and no one knows their teammate will enter. There are 8 teams.

Quick hits:

– Our una announced match sees Big Swole team up with Lil Swole (the extremely talented Nicole Savoy, who has to sign AEW pronto) against Leva Bates & Raché Chanel. The Swoles forward to a DDT / blockbuster combo with double team leading to Big pinning Leva. But Bates was protected for one reason or another – she would have won the match, if not for the referee being distracted by her partner who took forever to get out of the ring after she broke a pin.

– After ads for Verses, AEW action figures and All Out, we see the footage from earlier of Ivelisse & Diamante drawing each other as partners, and Madusa tells Dasha that she’s in the tournament.

– In the second match, Ivelisse & Diamante forward after Ivelisse Dasha hits with a Destroyer.

– After some remarks after the Swoles game, Tony Schiavone informs us next we will get both semi-finals. Here are the match-ups …
